Is there a minimum age to rent from you?
We would rather like to do business with customers who are twenty-five years and above because of our insurance coverage restrictions. Nevertheless, depending on your needs, whenever we can, we strive to be accommodating.
If you are below twenty-five, consider contacting your insurance company to find out if you would be covered for rental vehicles, particularly for pick-up trucks, and then contact us.
Could you accommodate families with kids?
Yes! Please note that with our rooftop camping vehicles you will need to climb a small ladder. If this is a concern, we also provide an additional camping tent with each of our packages which you can easily set up on the ground. This could be more convenient for you and also your kids.
How many individuals can your camping vehicles accommodate?
We are able to fit 3 individuals at most, although if there are more in your party, we do provide an extra tent, too. With this, we are able to allow for as much as five people. All of our vehicles have 5 seatbelts.
Are you able to provide surfboards?
Certainly, our company offers both surfboards and boogie boards and also fins upon request for a small fee. Simply tell us beforehand if you would like to rent one, so that we can add it to your reservation and have it ready for you at departure.
Do we get a guide book or perhaps a map with the greatest beaches and hiking trails to check out on Kauai?
Sure, each vehicle has a Kauai guidebook which details maps and information on the best places to see & camp out on Kauai.
Finest Locations For Camping Out On Kauai & Details About Camping Permits
Am I able to visit any beach front to camp?
You may drive up to any beach, however, you can only set up your camp in designated camping sites. Here on Kauai, this is the usual procedure. We’ll give you a list of the greatest locations to visit and to camp in. Please remember that driving a vehicle on the beaches isn’t allowed on Kauai.
Is “wild camping” permitted or are we just able to visit designated camping sites? If so, what is the charge?
No, wild camping isn’t allowed in Kauai. You can only go camping in designated areas with a current camping permit. The charge is approximately $3 per night in many Kauai county parks, but private campgrounds may be a little more. The good thing about these campsites is that you have complete access to amenities, including washrooms, showers & picnic dining tables. Please keep in mind that if you opt to go camping on the county campsites, you are only allowed to set up the ground tent.

Do we have to get Kauai camping permits before our arrival in Kauai?
It is definitely a better to organize your Kauai camping permits before your arrival. For the majority of private campsites, which we always recommend first, you can secure your licenses online and also in person in the designated office.
If you opt to camp at a county campsite and use a ground tent, you can request permits by visiting the “County of Kauai Camping Information” web page.
Up-front, the fees are $3 per night for nonresidents of Hawaii. Payment methods accepted with this particular application are money orders & cashier’s checks. However, it’s not absolutely necessary to reserve your camping licenses prior to your planned arrival. You could also obtain them at the different permit offices in Kauai, which is typically easier.
How much time does it take to get the camping permits?
Whether you decide to camp at a state or private campsite, both online and in person reservations are possible. If you decide to go to a county camping ground, mail-in applications are easy to submit, but it can take quite a while to get your permits. Permits can be bought at the permit offices on Kauai upon arrival; in-person permits are given immediately.
